Biography

Jeff Smith is Executive Vice President for Operations for UT-Battelle and serves as the Deputy for Operations at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In this position, he coordinates overall operations and support functions including facility operations, ES&H, business services, security, human resources, communications, performance management, IT, legal and technology transfer. While at ORNL, he has led an overall modernization effort that has transformed ORNL into one of the most modern laboratories in the world. He has overseen over $400M in facilities development. In addition, Mr. Smith serves on the Board of Commissioners for the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority.
