Wayne Belcher has worked for over 20 years studying and simulating groundwater flow systems in the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, Nevada, Iraq, and Ethiopia. Wayne earned a B.S. in Geology from Washington State University and an M.E. and PhD in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Prior to working for the federal government, Dr. Belcher worked for several years as an environmental consultant. Dr. Belcher now studies groundwater in the Death Valley regional groundwater flow system for the U.S. Geological Survey, as well studying groundwater resources for humanitarian and economic aid in Ethiopia and Iraq
