Biography

Hans-Jurgen Steinmetz has been head of the productivity quality control group for german low and medium level waste, working on behalf of the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection as an expert for 15 years and since 2013 as head of waste management concepts. He has a Ph.D. in technical and nuclear chemistry, and an honorary professor at the FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences. At the end of 2019, he moved to the German Federal Company for (BGZ) as a specialist for nuclear waste management to re-establish academic education of German engineers in predisposal management, based on a contract between BGZ and FH Aachen.
