Biography

Dr. Peterson is an economic geographer and has been a research scientist for the past 8 years in the Geographic Information Sciences and Technology Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His work focuses on routing and transportation networks for hazardous materials including spent nuclear fuel. His work is sponsored and funded by the US Department of Energy - Office of Environmental Management, the Federal Railroad Administration, and the National Geo-spatial Intelligence Agency.
