Biography

Mr. Moore serves as Acting Director, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS). Mr. Moore joined NRC in 1988 as a Health Physicist. During his career, he has held a number of progressively more responsible positions including Section Leader in the Division of Industrial and Medical Nuclear Safety and Division of Waste Management; Chief, Rulemaking and Guidance Branch; Deputy Director, Division of Materials Safety and State Agreements; and Deputy Director, Office of International Programs. In February 2012, he became Deputy Director of NMSS, the office that regulates nuclear materials and the facilities associated with processing, transportation, and handling
