Johannes Botha is currently undertaking PhD research at the University of Leeds investigating the applicability of using a quartz crystal microbalance to characterise the rheology of complex suspended mineral systems relevant to legacy nuclear waste sludge found at Sellafield, UK. Prior to his current work, Johannes obtained his Masters degree (MEng) in Chemical and Nuclear Engineering at the University of Leeds and undertook a research placement studying the erosion effects of cohesive sediment beds during submerged jet impingement.
