Biography

Since January of 2006 Kevin has managed Sandia’s Nuclear Waste Disposal Research and Analysis Department. The Department performs research, development and demonstration (RD&D) for the safe management and disposition of used nuclear fuel and/or high-level nuclear wastes from either commercial nuclear reactors or nuclear wastes produced by defense activities. RD&D covers multiple science and engineering disciplines and includes technologies critical to the solution of nuclear waste management problems. Performance assessment; decision analysis; chemical, physical, thermal and hydrologic process modeling; as well as environmental, chemical and low-level radioactive chemistry experiments are central to the departments’ activities and capabilities.
