Biography

Paul Howarth is Managing Director of the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL). He is a Non-Executive Director at the National Physical Laboratory and chairs the UK Measurement System, Science and Technology Advisory Board. He has held roles with Battelle in the USA, the Dalton Nuclear Institute and BNFL. He is on the Board of the Association of Independent Research and Technology Organisations and chairs both the York University External Advisory Committee and the Centre of Nuclear Excellence. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and the Nuclear Institute. He was elected to the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2014.
