Biography

Bart Barnhart is the Director, Office of Infrastructure Management and Disposition Policy in the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management. His office establishes policy and guidance for EM programs related to excess facility deactivation & decommissioning (D&D), nuclear waste tank closure, and soil & groundwater remediation. His staff interfaces with stakeholder groups, manages cooperative agreements, and assists EM field offices in sustainably maintaining buildings and infrastructure, managing real property, and integrating D&D, tank closure, and soil & groundwater technology development. He joined DOE as a member of the Senior Executive Service in 2015.
