Biography

My name is Yu Xie or you can call me Helen, I am originally from China and got my B.S. degree in Gemology and Material Sciences from China University of Geosciences (Beijing). I had my master degree in Geology from Boston College, and currently a PhD student in Clemson Universtiy. My research focus on Environmental Radiochemistry, specifically my research focus on understanding actinide complexation with common minerals (e.g.: Fe-oxides, clay minerals) as well as innovative synthetic materials (e.g.: graphene oxide).
