Biography

Kaoru Koide was born in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, in 1959. He is a researcher on HLW geological disposal with over 20 years geoscientific R&D experience. He holds a Ph.D. of engineering, especially remote sensing from Kumamoto University. In 1983, he joined the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Company (now the Japan Atomic Energy Agency: JAEA). He has engaged as a researcher of R&D of investigation technology for geological disposal. His work in recent years has included management for the Mizunami URL Project as director of Geoscientific Research Department, Tono Geoscience Center of JAEA.
