Biography

Mr. Geon Young Kim is a principal research scientist of the HLW Disposal Research Division, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). He has 17 years of research experience in deep geological disposal. Now he is in charge of the project of the establishment of infrastructure in KURT for in-situ demonstration. His responsibility is an overall management of the project including development of optimum design of tunnel based on the geological investigation, KURT tunnel excavation, and establishment of infrastructure and geological baseline dataset for in-situ experiments at KURT. He holds a Ph.D degree in geology from the Seoul National University, Korea.
