Mercedes Seamon is a Director of Academics at TNTP, where she champions high-quality instruction for multilingual learners and supports the effective implementation of dual language programs nationwide. With more than 15 years of experience in education, she brings deep expertise in bilingual education, special education, mathematics, and ESL, as well as a proven track record of leading systems toward more equitable and coherent instructional practices.
Mercedes holds a bachelor’s degree in Administration, Human Resource Management, and Education, along with a Master of Science in Educational Leadership. She has led impactful projects in both reading language arts and Spanish language arts, ensuring that teachers and leaders have the tools and support they need to provide rigorous, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for all students. Her leadership has been recognized for strengthening districtwide instructional systems and helping educators deliver consistent, research-based practices in every classroom.
At the heart of her work is a steadfast belief that multilingual learners deserve the same access to rich, grade-level instruction as their peers. She partners with districts to build systems that prioritize strong teaching, aligned expectations, and meaningful support for educators, creating classrooms where students’ language, identity, and culture are celebrated as assets.
Guided by her own experience as a first-generation Cuban American, Mercedes advocates for educational equity with both passion and purpose. She continues to work alongside educators across the country to create schools where every learner can thrive.
