Biography

Dr. Asano works to Hitachi Zosen as a senior manager of nuclear equipment business promotion department. Since he completed the master course of nuclear technology at Nagoya University in 1972, he joined Hitachi Zosen Corporation, which is Japanese cask vender. As a cask designer, he has been involved in almost all cask design development works of Hitachi Zosen including Hitachi Zosen’s first delivered spent fuel transport cask, HZ-75T. His current interest is a cask for long term storage of spent fuels and their disposal canisters.
