Biography

Dr. Perko is currently Director of Engineering for Magnum Piering, Inc., a leading manufacturer of helical piling and other foundation products.  He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical/Foundation Engineering specialization.  Dr. Perko has 30+ years of engineering experience and is a licensed professional engineer in 22 US states.  He has published over 70 technical papers on various geotechnical topics and is author of the 500+ page text book, “Helical Piles: A Guide to Design and Installation”, published world-wide by Wiley & Sons, September, 2009.

Dr. Perko serves the profession as a trustee of the Deep Foundation Institute and is liaison to the Electrical Power Transmission Structure Foundation Committee.  He also currently serves as a member of the ASCE/DFI/PDCA/ADSC Geo-Coalition which has proposed over 60 geotechnical related revisions to the IBC.  In recognition for his service to the profession, Dr. Perko was recently inducted into the prestigious Civil Engineering Academy at Michigan Technological University.
