Biography

Joseph Manna has a BS in Chemistry from the Univ. of Buffalo and PhD. in Chemistry from the Univ. of Pittsburgh. He started at Savannah River National Laboratory in 2019 after 22 years at the Dow Chemical Company, having worked in manufacturing and R&D leadership roles. Joe is Director of the Materials Technology & Energy Sciences Division for the Environmental & Legacy Management Directorate. His team supports programs at DOE sites through non-destructive and corrosion analysis of waste storage and processing systems, grout and glass wasteform development for waste immobilization, and new materials for fusion, waste upcycling, and NNSA.
