Biography

Stephen Clutter is the Director of External Affairs for the DOE Office of Environmental Management. He is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel with 34 years of service, including multiple deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. Prior to joining EM in June 2020, he served as Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the Navy Installations Command. Prior to that, he served as Chief of the Office of Communications for the Bureau of Land Management in Reno, NV. Prior to the Air Force, he covered government and politics for ten years as a newspaper reporter for the Seattle Times and also served in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician.
