Biography

Dr. Selena Protacio is Professor of Literacy Studies and TESOL at Western Michigan University and also serves as the chair of the Department of Special Education and Literacy Studies. Dr. Protacio has been Project Director and Principal Investigator of two NPD grants, Project ELATE and Project TEAMS. Aside from ESL professional development, Dr. Protacio’s research focuses on multilingual learners' reading motivation and engagement as well as family and community engagements.
