Taichi Sakai joined Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), in April 2018, where he had worked for the 4 years as a engineer at Kashiwazaki-Kariwa NPS. There he was engaged in the pre-service inspections for Unit 7, especially dealing with facilities for severe accidents such as filter vent. After that, he moved to FDEC headquarter and currently is in charge of planning treatment and disposal of radioactive waste in Fukushima site. In particular, secondary wastes from contaminated water treatment are his central interests. Before joining TEPCO, Taichi earned BS and MS in nuclear engineering from The University of Tokyo in Japan.
