Biography

Olivier Lareynie has been the head the radioactive waste management unit at the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) since September, 2021. He coordinates a team of engineers in charge of developing and implementing the ASN licensing processes and oversight programs for radioactive waste management facilities, including the French deep geological repository project Cigéo. Olivier has 20 years of experience in the nuclear field, and previously held positions at the U.S. NRC and the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CSN). His background is industrial & process engineering.
