Biography

Mr. Hastings leads teams responsible for licensing and permitting activities, risk-informed safety analysis, quality assurance, nuclear safeguards and security, and government affairs, with a focus on establishing the regulatory basis for the Kairos Power high-temperature, fluoride salt-cooled reactor. He previously led an advanced reactor consulting firm, and held prior positions with Generation mPower, Duke Energy, and NuStart. He is on the Board of Directors for USNIC, and chairs the NEI Advanced Reactor Regulatory Working Group, the WNA CORDEL SMR Task Force, and the US High-Temperature Reactor Technology Working Group. He holds a bachelors degree in nuclear engineering from NC State University, and is a registered PE in NC and SC.
