Biography

Dr. Kathryn D. Huff serves as Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy. She previously served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Nuclear Energy. Prior to DOE service, she was Assistant Professor (Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) where she led the Advanced Reactors and Fuel Cycles Research Group. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Nuclear Science and Security Consortium and the Berkeley Institute for Data Science at California – Berkeley. She has a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison (2013) and an undergraduate degree (physics) from University of Chicago.
