Biography

Elke obtained a master in industrial sciences and technology from the University of Ghent in 2004 and a master after master in biomedical imaging in 2005 from the University of Antwerp. She started working at the Belgian nuclear research center in 2005. In 2018, Elke obtained her PhD from the Catholic University of Leuven and RWTH Aachen University. Since 2019 she is in charge of the “Gas transport mechanisms” research within the EURAD-GAS project. Currently, she is the official project coordinator of the EC HARPERS project (Harmonised best practices, regulations and standards in waste management and decommissioning).
