Michael Janicke is a Senior Program Officer at the National Academies. Mike graduated from Rice University with a B.S. in chemical engineering and continued his education at the University of California Santa Barbara where he earned his Ph.D. Additionally, he was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Carbon Research. At Los Alamos he was involved in several programmatic studies for Enhanced Surveillance Campaigns and Lifetime Extension Programs for the weapons community, and assisted in addressing chemical questions associated with Medical Isotope and Basic Energy Sciences Heavy Element. He is currently a senior program officer on the Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board at the Academies.
