Bill Bates is the Deputy Associate Laboratory Director for Environmental & Legacy Management at SRNL. His 36 years of experience include technical roles in Reactor Technology, and management roles leading Reactor & High-Level Waste Engineering groups at SRS. In 2000, he transitioned to Facility Management for the KAMS and the SRS Spent Fuel facilities. From 2006-08, he served as the K Area Business and QA Manager returning to facility management as Deputy and later Director for Nuclear Materials Storage. He transitioned to SRNL in 2012 participating in numerous multi-lab teams, most recently leading the NDAA 2017 and 2021 FFRDC teams performing Hanford Supplemental Low Activity Waste Treatment Analyses.
