Dr. Brandee Mau brings over 25 years of experience in language education, including roles as a Dual Language Immersion director, secondary world language teacher, curriculum leader, and national advocate. Her work has supported a wide range of languages and educational contexts, from classroom instruction to state and national policy. She has contributed to standards development, served on leadership committees for professional language organizations, and supported language educators through coaching, curriculum design, and professional development. Now at Avant Assessment, Dr. Mau supports the advancement of world language and Dual Language Immersion programs nationwide. Her focus is on professional learning that fosters equitable, proficiency-based practices and empowers both educators and their students. She works with a broad portfolio of languages, contributing to the development of high-quality, research-informed tools and training that reflect the diversity of language learners. Dr. Mau is deeply committed to ensuring that all students have access to meaningful language learning experiences and that teachers are supported as professional leaders. Her work bridges classroom practice, assessment, and policy, grounded in the belief that language education changes lives.
