Biography

Augusto Paranhos is a professor at the Federal University of Sao Paulo - Brazil. He completed his training in glaucoma at the University of Yale - USA under the supervision of Prof Bruce Shields. Prof Paranhos has more than 100 articles published in glaucoma being its line of research more robust the sleep disturbances in glaucoma, cerebral injury and glaucoma and at present, dysautonomia and vascular alterations in patients with glaucoma. Dr. Paranhos was the supervisor of the postgraduate program in ophthalmology at the Federal University of Sao Paulo, president of the Brazilian Research Association in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO International Chapter), president of the Pan-American Glaucoma Society and president of Brazilian Society of Glaucoma.
