Biography

Maya A. Martinez-Hart has extensive experience in education, spanning various roles and settings. She currently serves as an Assistant Director of Standards at the University of Wisconsin--WIDA, where she develops resources for Early English and Spanish Language Development Standards. Maya has also taught as an Adjunct Instructor at Edgewood College and has held multiple teaching positions within the Madison Metropolitan School District, including Bilingual/ESL Preschool Lead Teacher and Bilingual Teacher. Her background includes significant contributions to early childhood education, bilingual programming, and professional development for educators. Additionally, she has experience in consulting, having collaborated with WIDA on the Early Spanish Development Standards, and has demonstrated leadership through her involvement with community school boards and conference organizations.
