Biography

Joel C. Rodriguez is an experienced educational leader with over 20 years in teaching, curriculum design, and program leadership. He currently serves as Curriculum Coordinator III for Teaching and Learning Services at ESC Region 20 in San Antonio, where he leads cross-functional teams, supervises specialists across multiple content areas, and ensures compliance with state and federal program requirements. Joel began his career as a mathematics teacher and advanced into district specialist roles, where he supported curriculum alignment, instructional coaching, and professional development to improve student outcomes. At ESC-20, he further expanded his impact as a STEM Specialist, delivering professional learning, establishing the STEM Advisory Committee, and aligning services with statewide accountability initiatives. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oral Roberts University and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Texas at Arlington, Joel brings both analytical rigor and a strong commitment to equity-focused instruction. Throughout his career, Joel has been recognized for his ability to foster collaboration, build innovative instructional programs, and empower educators to meet the diverse needs of students across Texas.
