Biography

Ms. Erin Baxter holds a Master's degree in ESL Education and possesses a deep-seated passion for traveling and exploring diverse cultures. Her journey has taken her across five continents, enriching her understanding of global perspectives and ultimately guiding her to a fulfilling career in ESL education. She is currently serving as a secondary ESL teacher in Jefferson County, Alabama. She is a member of Jefferson County's ESL Curriculum Committee and the Elevate Curriculum team, where she collaborates with fellow educators to develop effective ESL literacy programs. Her commitment to advancing language education extends beyond the classroom, as she also works with adult ESL education in the Birmingham community. In her classroom, Ms. Baxter is dedicated to creating an environment that promotes acceptance, cultural curiosity, and independence among her students. She emphasizes the importance of understanding brain development and language acquisition processes to enhance learning outcomes.
