Biography

Leslie has twenty years of experience working in the field of sustainability and environmental protection and works as an Environmental Specialist for the Whiteshell Laboratories Restoration Project. She holds a Masters of Science in Environmental Practice and an Environmental Studies degree focusing on sustainable development issues. She most values the education she has received from meeting and working with Indigenous peoples over the years. She dedicated her masters paper to Sagkeeng First Nation who inspired her to write on Whiteshell Laboratories relationships with Indigenous peoples. Currently she works to bridge the Whiteshell Laboratories Environmental Protection Program and Indigenous communities and supports community efforts related to environmental issues.
