Biography

Dr. Bird is a expert in Robotics for Nuclear Decommissioning, having lead the engineering development and deployment of many 'first of a kind' robotic deployments within extremely hazardous environments throughout the world. Dr. Bird gained his PhD in Robotics for Nuclear Decommissioning, from the University of Manchester school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, United Kingdom, in 2019. Since leaving academia in 2021 after a successful PostDoc within the newly created Robotics for Extreme Environments group, Dr. Bird has focused on the development and integration of both bespoke robotic platforms and instrumentation, particularly for the nuclear industry.
