Biography

Dr. Sungjune Sohn is a senior researcher at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. He received a B.S. and a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from Seoul National University. His research is situated in volume reduction and recycling of radioactive wastes and spent nuclear fuel. He is currently investigating conditioning of waste for final disposal. He focused on the group separation of actinides and lanthanides in molten salt and liquid metal system during his doctoral work. He published 13 SCIE papers and registered 7 patents. He served as the president of the Korean Young Generation Network under the Korean Nuclear Society and board member of International Youth Nuclear Congress.
