Dr. Brendon Parsons is a research scientist with a background in analytical chemistry with experience in identification and source attribution of persistent organic pollutants associated with legacy and ongoing DOE operations. Dr. Parsons research in the area has focused on polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and per/poly-fluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS), with experience including laboratory method development, data review and analysis, policy review, and scientific advising. Current areas of focus include waste prevention by implementing radio frequency identification (RFID) enhanced inventory systems, novel methods for retrieving Hanford underground waste, and evaluating the fate of fluoropolymers in insensitive high explosives.
