Biography

Bernard Wishard is a consultant to the Argonne National Laboratory under their Nuclear Technologies and National Security (NTNS) directorate where he supports the Packaging Certification and Life Cycle Management Group with cyber/physical security solutions for nuclear material storage. From 2004-2023, he served in the IAEA’s Safeguards Department providing a full array of verification services to over 250 Inspectors. In 2008, he created the IAEA’s Containment and Security Team which developed a multitude of cyber/physical solutions, novel containment systems, and mitigated vulnerabilities in all unattended systems. He holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Computer Science from the UK’s University of Liverpool.
