Biography

Bill has over 30 years of experience in radioactive and hazardous waste management, with particular emphasis on radioactive waste disposal. He also has considerable related experience in nuclear decommissioning and contaminated land remediation. Bill has extensive international knowledge, and has worked on waste management and disposal projects in many countries including UK, USA, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Finland, Sweden, France, Italy, Belgium, Romania and Poland. Internationally, he has been involved in several IAEA and NEA expert groups related to waste management and disposal. This includes as co-author of international guidance documents on L/ILW disposal and safety assessment methodologies.
