After completing my bachelor's degree in geosciences with a thesis on the mineralogical characterization of Muweilha granite, I continued my education in geosciences with a specialization in mineralogy and geochemistry and completed my master's degree with a thesis on the Impact of Dissolved Organic Matter on Mn(II)-Induced Transformation of δ-MnO2. Within my PhD I am now investigating the corrosion and hydrogen formation rates of aluminum alloys and metallic thorium under deep repository conditions. The results help to assess the safety of repositories and to decide on the necessity of conditioning the materials prior to disposal (e.g. high-temperature oxidation of the materials).
