Biography

Rémi de La Vaissière obtained his PhD in Hydrogeology from University of Avignon, France, in 2006. Since then, he has been a member of the scientific staff at the French National Radioactive Waste Management Agency (ANDRA), stationed at the Meuse/Haute-Marne Underground Research Laboratory. He serves as a senior project manager for engineered barrier systems at the CMHM URL in France. His primary research areas encompass hydrogeology, with a focus on single or multi-phase flow in porous and fractured media, particularly in the excavation damaged zone. Additionally, he specializes in the hydro-mechanical behavior of claystone and swelling clay and civil engineering related to radioactive waste repositories.
