Elise White Diaz is an educational consultant with Seidlitz Education, where she specializes in supporting multilingual students and the educators who serve them. She is the author of Discover, Connect, Respond: A Practical Approach to Trauma-Informed Instruction and a highly sought-after keynote speaker at state and national conferences.
With a master’s degree in Intercultural Studies and Children at Risk, Elise brings more than 25 years of experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students from challenging backgrounds. Her career has included roles as an ESL teacher, instructional coach, curriculum developer, and professional development facilitator, as well as consulting with school districts and providing support at the state level. In addition, Elise has served in various roles in nonprofit work supporting some of the world’s most vulnerable children in Central America. Her experience includes serving child-laborers in a garbage dump community in Honduras and teaching students with developmental delays and special needs in orphanages and schools in Guatemala.
Today, Elise travels nationwide to provide training and embedded classroom support for schools seeking to create safe, responsive, and empowering learning environments. She also volunteers with the National Association of English Language Program Administrators (NAELPA) and serves in a respite care for culturally and linguistically diverse children in foster care.
