Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C)
Alexa Ackermann graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Washington State University in 2019 and has her Engineer-In-Training certification in the state of Washington. Alexa started her career at Hanford’s Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant as the Air Systems Engineer and Lubrication Subject Matter Expert. She joined Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) in 2021, and currently works as a chemical engineer for the Flowsheet Integration team as the Direct-Feed Low-Activity Waste (DFLAW) Flowsheet lead responsible for managing and maintaining Hanford's Integrated DFLAW Flowsheet. She has also supported the 200-West Area and Direct-Feed High-Level Waste (DFHLW) flowsheet development efforts.
