Biography

Cristiano has an MEng in Materials Science and a PhD in Corrosion Science. He is also a Visiting professor at the University of Bristol. Cristiano leads Amentum's Chemistry and Materials Science Unit focusing on the treatment, storage and disposal of radioactive wastes and nuclear materials. Previously, he worked for 10 years at Nuclear Waste Services as the technical authority for key components of their R&D programme. Key publications include elements of the safety case for the geological disposal of radioactive wastes in the UK and state of the art publications for ‘Implementing Geological Disposal Technology Platform' (IGD-TP) and EURAD, coordinating the contributions of international experts
