Biography

Matthias Hinze graduated in mathematics at Leipzig University (Germany) in 2017 and holds a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Stuttgart (Germany) since 2021. Matthias joined the Repository Research Department of Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) gGmbH in Braunschweig as research associate in 2021 and has worked in several projects dealing with THM modeling, safety analysis, laboratory and in-situ testing of clay rock and bentonite. Since 2023, he has been the co-leader of the international Sandwich project investigating a hydraulic shaft sealing system.
