Biography

Abby is a second year Nuclear and Radiological Engineering Graduate Student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She attended Whitworth University in Spokane, WA to study Chemistry and Spanish Literature. After two years of undergraduate research in Analytical Chemistry using Ion Mobility Spectrometry, she realized her interests in nuclear sciences. At Pacific Northwest National Laboratory she worked as a post-bachelor researcher for the Tritium Technology Program and the Hanford tank waste ion exchange group. Her graduate research involves experimental and modeled Cesium-137 removal from Hanford supernate in various anion and potassium matrices prior to disposal as low-level waste.
