Biography

Mr. Okamura, Nuclear Technology Development Center/ General Manager, has 30 years of experience in the nuclear power division, with deep knowledge of nuclear power plant (ABWR) construction technology, stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in nuclear power plants, fracture mechanics evaluation of cracks, and maintenance measures. During the Fukushima Daiichi accident, he worked on spent fuel pool water injection and contaminated water countermeasures immediately following the disaster. Subsequently, as a risk communicator, gained practical experience in media relations including headquarters press conferences. Current interests include VR and metaverse applications. Completed Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology.
