Biography

Jose Zuniga is the Lead Chemist at Moltex Energy Canada, specializing in nuclear waste reduction, actinide separation, and molten salt systems. For the past five years, he has led the development of the Waste to Stable Salt (WATSS) technology, converting nuclear waste into fuel salt for the SSR-W reactor to close the nuclear fuel cycle. Jose has guided critical WATSS phases, including computational model validation, experimental design, and hot cell experiments at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. He holds a M.Sc. in Chemistry, is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and has published extensively on nuclear chemistry and materials science.
