Biography

Carlos Lorencez has over 35 years of experience in the nuclear industry, spending a significant portion of his career at Ontario Power Generation (OPG). During his time at OPG, he focused on nuclear safety, overseeing the safe operation of a fleet of ten reactors, and areas such as waste management, emergency preparedness, and regulatory affairs. Carlos joined the CANDU Owners Group (COG) Management Team as the Director of Nuclear Safety and Environmental Affairs four years ago. In this role, he collaborates with the industry to achieve excellence in CANDU performance and promote nuclear technology advancement as part of a clean energy future.
