Biography

Andy is the Director of Nuclear Energy Programs at ORNL, and the Deputy Director of the Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear (GAIN), a U.S. DOE-NE initiative. He has more than 30 years of professional experience in the UK and the US working on and leading multi-disciplinary and multi-national projects across nuclear energy. He is a Chartered Physicist, and a Fellow of the Institute of Physics. In January 2021 Andrew, as part a multi-laboratory project, was awarded the U.S. Secretary of Energy’s Achievement Award, and In May 2021, he was given the Award for Outstanding Alumni by Lancaster University, for “an outstanding national and international reputation”.
