Biography

Ray Compton serves as a Fellow - Solution Architect and RDT&E Subject Matter Expert (SME) at LMI, driving innovation in integrated solutions. He focuses on transforming cutting-edge technical concepts into sustainable and supportable data-informed that address federal critical needs, and fostering robust collaborations with industry, academia, and government. As a retired U.S. Army colonel with over 30 years of leadership and strategic experience, Ray has worked across all aspects of the acquisition lifecycle—from research and development to the production of complex systems supporting national defense. Over the years, he has had the honor of serving on the Army Science Board (ASB), with the most recently, he chaired the Data-Centric Command and Control (C2) effort, and over 20 years supporting I/ITSEC to include Chair of Simulation Subcommittee. He holds a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, a master’s degree in simulation modeling and analysis and a graduate certificate in training simulation from the University of Central Florida, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Christopher Newport University.
