Amy Solana is a senior research engineer in the Distributed Systems group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Portland, Oregon. She started at PNNL in 2002, and has primarily worked with the Department of Defense to help them be at the forefront of adaptation and change in an evolving energy and water world. She analyzes the potential for and supports achievement of energy and water security and resilience including net zero energy, water, and waste; helps design and implement renewable energy and other distributed generation projects; and maximizes efficiency opportunities in buildings and across installations. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and is a Certified Energy Manager.
