Biography

Dr. Crown has dedicated her career to serving students, families, and staff in Libertyville District 70. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University, followed by both a master’s degree and an Educational Specialist Degree from National Louis University. She later completed her doctorate at National Louis University in Human Learning and Development. For 18 years, Dr. Crown worked as a school psychologist, bringing expertise in assessment, specialized instruction, and family support. She is now in her second year as Student Services Coordinator, a role that has expanded her impact across the district. In this position, she has collaborated closely with the multilingual teaching staff to strengthen systems that support the district’s ML student population. Dr. Crown has played an integral role in implementing data collection and progress monitoring processes tailored to multilingual learners, ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities. She has also advocated for and implemented more effective translation services, helping staff and families engage in meaningful and informed discussions about student supports.
